Manual local backups, archive integrity checks and guided restore or migration for supported single-site WordPress installations.

== Description ==
Create a backup of the database and supported wp-content files. Download a separate copy, inspect its integrity and review the scope before restoring it. A fresh destination recovery point is required before restore.

WordPress core, wp-config.php, external directories, symlinks, caches and the private backup directory are excluded. Backups are not a substitute for independent hosting recovery. Pause orders and other database writes during backup and restore. Multisite and automatic live order merging are not supported.

Backup-created and integrity-checked statuses do not prove a successful restore. Test recovery on a separate environment and check its actual results.

The separate Pro add-on provides additional implemented tools described at https://ssfllc.com/ssf-backup-migrate/. Cloud-provider capacity and bills are separate. No AI service or hosted storage is included.

== Installation ==
1. Upload the ssf-backup-migrate folder to wp-content/plugins and activate it.
2. Open Tools > SSF Backup & Migrate and review readiness.
3. Use manual local backup, then download and store an independent copy securely.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==
= Is this already in the WordPress.org directory? =
No. This build is distributed directly by SSF. Directory submission is on owner hold.
= Does uninstall remove backups? =
No. Backups and records remain in the private server directory. The administrator must manage their own retention and removal. Archives contain sensitive database records and password hashes; keep them private.
= Can I restore another plugin's proprietary archive? =
Only this plugin's documented supported archive format is accepted.
